It's Really Not So Scary...

Howdy there my friends of the Blogosphere! I'm going to go ahead and give you a warning right now that my blogging will continue to be somewhat sporadic as I am only blogging when something new/interesting happens. While my life at Disney World is fun and "everyday is magical," the newness of the experience has worn off. Most days I just work. Other days I go to the parks, but I feel like I would just be writing the same things you've already  heard. If I wrote more often, you'd be left with things like: "Oh, gas prices are going down..." or "Guests with excessive amounts of strollers make life hard for everyone," which aren't exactly the most interesting topics. With that being said, I HAVE NEW THINGS TO BLOG ABOUT, SO GET EXCITED!

Last night my roommates and I went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! It was really fun! Disney does an excellent job with Halloween. We all dressed up in our Halloween best and went to the Yacht and Beach Club Resort to kick off the evening with the famous Kitchen Sink, which we finished in record time!
Of course, my tummy hurt a bit afterwards, and my dress was kind of snug...

When we got to the Magic Kingdom, Halloween was certainly in the air. Most people were in some form of costume, and the streets were decorated with fall foliage while our host, our GHOST host, spun spooky tunes throughout the park. We got right down to business meeting characters and Trick-or-Treating our way through the Magic Kingdom until it was time for HalloWishes, the spooky Halloween firework spectacular. Following the fireworks, we watched the Disney Villains dance and sing before the mix and mingle where we met Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, and The Evil Queen. Then, we watched Mickey's Boo to You Halloween Parade! It was spooky and magical at the same time!

It was SUCH a fun night! We met so many cool characters and got tons of candy! Yay for Halloween... even though it's still September!

During My Absence

Hello again! I know it's been a while; I'm an extremely unreliable blogger. I guess blogging just isn't my natural calling.

Not a ton has happened.... oh, wait, I lied. A LOT has happened, which is why I'm so awful at blogging. I work so very much each week. One of the most exciting things I've done during my time in Florida was seeing one of my favorite bands, Walk the Moon, live in concert at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney with my dear friend Jamie. We waited in line outside of the venue for hours in the heat, then in the rain, then in the hot rain. It was pretty difficult. We tweeted the band to let them know we were waiting in line, and they retweeted us back! Then, right before the doors opened for us to go in, Nicholas, the lead singer (and total babe) came out to see Jamie and I.... exclusively! He was so cool and so very nice! I couldn't even make words when I met him.

We were hot messes because of the rain, but it's ok because he was wonderful. We were front and center for the concert, which was absolutely amazing. After the show, we were able to meet the band. We got photos and autographs from all of them. They each RECOGNIZED US FROM OUT VIDEO!!!!! It was a crowning moment of my life as a fangirl. Kevin, the bassist, told me I was beautiful and Nick asked us to hang out with the band after the show! He got my Twitter tag and he now follows me on Twitter. I almost died. It was such a fun night. Sadly, it was Jamie's last night in Florida; she left for Boston the next day. It made me sad to have to say goodbye to her.

Last week, my wonderfully amazing and beautiful friend Trish came to Orlando for a visit! It was so nice to see a familiar face from home. She brought a few fellas from Starkville with her, and we all had an absolute blast. However, I don't think I realized how much I miss home until I saw her. We went to the Sci-Fi Diner for some girl time, and caught up on life. We went to Hollywood Studios the first day that we hung out and Magic Kingdom the second day. It was wonderful, but it was REALLY hard to say goodbye to her. Having her and others from Mississippi State around really put me at ease. I was so comfortable and felt like I was back in my element. I can't wait to see her again!

Yesterday, my roommate, Megan, and I went to Hollywood Studios for the day to find characters. We had a lovely time, but it started raining (like it always does). Other than that, my life has pretty much been work and going to the parks!

Work Til You're Dead

kjf;qohweguyfguoijsfdedrfyuv!!!!! Worrrrkkkkk!!!! Yesterday was hard. I worked a 14 hour shift with only two 45 minute breaks. On the bright side, however, I got to work at Fountain View scooping ice cream rather than working at the Electric Umbrella scooping fries. I had to deal with some difficult customers while I was working the register, so that was kind of uncomfortable.

On a more personal note, yesterday was my dear friend, Laura's, last day of work. She leaves on Friday, so I'll be spending a good deal of time with her over the next two days before she goes back to Nebraska. I don't like it. She leaves this week and Jamie leaves to go back to Boston next week, which is also not okay. My friends are leaving me, and I don't like it. Not one bit.

Long Time No See...

Hello my dear friends and family! I know it's been quite a long time since I last blogged, but I hope to do a bit better. I'm just so darned busy! When I get home from work, I am too tired to blog. On my days off, I'm too busy trying to make the most of my time in Orlando!

There has been a lot, A LOT of time spent in the parks with friends. It is definitely my favorite part of working for Disney. My favorite ride is easily the Tower of Terror (it's also my favorite movie). After many evenings spent in Hollywood Studios, my friends and I became familiar with several of the cast members working at the tower. We may or may not have sweet-talked them into riding the ride with us for picture taking purposes!

We've met lots and lots of princesses! Aurora even recognized me and said she hoped to see me around the palace again!

Whilst at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, I was chosen as the human kid who got to talk to the monsters. It was really fun! I also texted in a joke that got used during the show, so that was exciting. After the show, we met "That Guy" (if you don't know what that means, I'm sorry, but I can't ruin the fun), and had our picture taken with him!

Most of these events occurred  Thorsday (Thursday). It was a really fun day, but the best part was that we were able to ride the Thor car on the Avengers monorail.... twice. It. Was. Awesome! ;alsdhfuaicjwenhayguikecmjfhj!!!!! (We are wearing the flowers because we parked at the Polynesian Resort for convenience sake).

The next big life event that took place recently was the WARPED TOURRRRR!!!!! It was really awesome and fun and amazing. I got a sunburn. But it wasn't too bad, so that was ok. I met Chris Kirkpatrick from *Nsync, and he was really cool. I think he was secretly flattered that a couple of moderately good-looking young women recognized him! We also were in the front row for both Taking Back Sunday and Yellowcard! It was such a thrill. Both bands were excellent live. We got to meet Yellowcard during a signing, and Ryan (the lead singer) showed me his Star Wars tattoos because I was wearing my Star Tours name badge. After the show, we met Chris Wilson (drummer formerly of Good Charlotte), and Sean (the super cool violinist of Yellowcard) came out from backstage exclusively for Jamie and I. We chatted, took pictures, and he complimented me for being pretty and whatnot. It was really cool! He was super duper nice!

The next thing worth noting is that my friends and I went and saw Rocky Horror Picture Show Live at the Citywalk movie theater at Universal Studios. It was so much fun! It was tremendously obscene and offensive and lewd, but I want to be in the cast more than anything ever. They even invited Rebekah and I to come to a meeting because they wanted us to join! However, working for Disney means ridiculous schedules that are never set in a usual way. And, being that I am a CP, they will not accommodate me in order to join the Rocky cast, which makes me very sad.

Last but not least, I had to say goodbye to some of my friends. We had a going away dinner at Applebee's for the CP's who were leaving after their programs wrapped. It was tons of fun, but quite sad at the same time. Luckily, my closest friends haven't left... yet. That happens next week. I really can't stand the thought of it. Laura (pictured above) leaves too soon for me to be happy about it. I'm going to miss her quite a lot. No one will be there to share in kitchen dancing/duets or german accent-ing or oggling at the French boys in France. I'm sad now.
